Formed in June 09, Here Come the Belgians is a non-elite anti-team celebrating all things cross, cobbled and Belgian.
Seeking a different experience to the traditional cycling club, its aim is to harness the energy of a vibrant internet cycling community with grass roots racing and riding based around Cyclocross and Spring Classics. There is no race programme in the style of a racing team, more a collection of individual experiences through rides and racing, in whatever location a member may be, that all can share in and contribute toward.

Hell Of The North (London)

Blimey they're like Abba tribute bands!
Raphas offering is the same day as the HONC and of course the Paris Roubaix, to which a hat it tips.
Starts in North London, Pond Square (Tres posh) and heads north to circle the Herts and Essex borders. The route also takes in twenty sections of 'Gravé' basically off road sectors spread out over the 100kms.
The ride ends at a pub in Barnet, where you can securely park your bike and hand in your route card for a free beer and frites.
Last years ride was a cracker, in the social sense. However if the weather turns it'll be a whole different affair.

Got a 200km audax the day before - do I have to hand back my jersey now I've said that?

    Smiler, I'm down for this too. See you there in full Team kit? None of the poncy Rapha kit for me - only 'cos I'm likely to come a cropper somewhere en route and stuff it up!

    Did the ride last year. Great fun, and you can see my bum for extended periods on the video of the event on the Rapha site.
    The pub was heaving at the end, but the free Belgian beer and frites were lush. The ride, and the to and from rides, made it a rather taxing 180km in early April.
