Formed in June 09, Here Come the Belgians is a non-elite anti-team celebrating all things cross, cobbled and Belgian.
Seeking a different experience to the traditional cycling club, its aim is to harness the energy of a vibrant internet cycling community with grass roots racing and riding based around Cyclocross and Spring Classics. There is no race programme in the style of a racing team, more a collection of individual experiences through rides and racing, in whatever location a member may be, that all can share in and contribute toward.

Hell of the North Cotswolds

Yep, I know. Sounds like a trip to the organic farmers market to find they are out of quails eggs!

However, those of us in the know, will be flogging around the Cotswold escarpment on the first Sunday of the Easter Holidays on one of the longest running sportive/CX enduros in the country.

We don't have cobbles down here but fortunately we have some very fine potholes, and bridleways that have been churned up by The Pony Club. The main event is 100k and zigzags around Countryfile and Top Gear land with some fine technical descents and muddy slogs.

Any other Belgians riding? I have one spare place as one "mate" has decided to ride to Paris with his sister that weekend.

  1. Hi Russell, I shall be lining up in Winchcombe too. This has been on my to-do list for many years, since I used to live in Cheltenham back in the '80s! You should be able to spot me in the red white and black :D

Cheers, see you there, Dave W.

  4. I used to live in Cheltenham and was a member of the Cheltenham & County CC who organised it. It's a cracking event and I rode it 2 or 3 times.
