Seems like its time for another kit order :-) If you have ordered before using Champion systems CS-Direct the procedure is the same as before. Please check your sizing here and if possible borrow a jersey to check from one of our amiable team members at a race, shorts and skinsuits are trickier depending on your chamois fastidiousness;-> If it's your first time then you need to contact me (otleyrich) via the Facebook page and I'll DM you a login. If you are a Facebook abstainer then leave a comment below and we'll work something out.
Currently there is an issue with the Bibb-Tights order button as it seems to go to the Bibb Shorts option so don't order those yet! Orders close on the 09/09/2013. (See work around in the comments below 29/8/13)

Team Kit News...

Anyway without much further a do the new 2012 Belgian Champ tribute kit will be produced by Endura in Scotland. We're bringing production back to the British Isles rather than Belgium and I'm pretty pleased with Endura's customer service so far and it bodes well for a future partnership.
The summer range will include short sleeve jerseys with full zip and bibshorts. Initial costings are: Jerseys @ £52.00 and Bibshorts @ £60.00. Turnaround will be somewhere around 8 weeks. Postage will be FREE for the UK and reasonable charge for the rest of the world.
Hopefully the service course will be fully operational later in the week as I'm just completing it at the present, so while I do, can I just ask anyone interested to complete the survey (top page right) so I can gauge the general interest.
Remember, Simply buy a jersey and you're on the team.
Thanks for your patience.
Dunc.

Kit Update...
Just a quick update as to the progress with the 2012 team kit.
I've just proofed the initial transfer of my design into the manufacturers template. I've asked for some amends to be made and until these are progressed I won't be opening the shop to take orders as I just want to ensure we'll all be happy with the product.
I know some of us are keen and eager to get the show on the road but please be patient as it'll be worth it.
Cheers

Team Jersey Summer 2012...

As promised here's a preview of the HCTB summer jersey for 2012. It's currently being artworked and proofed by the manufacturer so some minor details may change, I'll bring it to your attention should anything move around (I don't expect it to though). A simpler graphic pair of shorts will also be available but I'll post those when I receive the proof.
Once I receive the final proof I'll open the store to take orders. Make sure you order to be assured of getting a jersey as I will only carry a limited stock. For the time being get giddy to look like Gilbert!

Moving Forward...
Just a quick update concerning team kit and the ordering process, as over the last few weeks I've received a decent amount of emails enquiring 'what's going on?'. As I haven't been in the position to confirm anything up to this point, I didn't want to jump the gun so apologies for the radio silence.
So what is going on?
In a nutshell 3 things.
- There's new jersey design based on the Belgian Champ colours.
- We're shifting supplier... and our kit will be made in Belgium
- Kit will be available all year... HCTB will be having an online store.
Our kit's coming home to roost in Belgium. It couldn't be more fitting.
Keep an eye out for the store tab to pop up on the right side of the page. It'll be up and running in the next week or so.
So there we are. I reckon that's enough revelations for one Sunday.

Viral marketing?
Well not quite, but as Duncan's designs get picked up in the lenses of photographers all over the place, Team Kit has also again featured in a major British cycling publication (Mark Turner gets the honour for the first appearance):

Some of you may already have seen this, but for the benefit of our wider membership, Cycling Weekly ran a winter headgear test last week, including Champion Systems as one of the manufacturers. They appear to have sent a Here Come the Belgians sample.
Our dapper headgear was not only the best value (ie cheapest) but even beat off expensive opposition from Assos and the like.
Out on the road and the cross course, Belgian kit continues to get noticed and admired wherever it crops up. As a friend commented recently, we really have a Belgians 'brand' developing here.
Chapeau indeed, Dunc.

Temple Newsam Cross - Yorkshire League
Action from over the East side of the Pennines - classic cross venue Temple Newsam Park in Leeds. The Yorkshire chapter of the Belgians got stuck into some bibilically wet conditions and Jo Hanglebads took the pics - riders were Rich Allen, Mark Bradley and Ben. As in Paperthin. Not sure how they got on yet, but they all looked stylish.

Public Service Announcement
My original-design Belgians jersey has started to fall apart at the seams - well the join between the top of the pocket dividers and the jersey at least. I contacted Shutt VR about this and they said that it's a known issue with some of their jerseys. A quick tweet revealed that it's not only my Belgians jersey which is suffering. There is some good news though: in their reply to my e-mail Shutt said that if the afflicted jersey is sent back to them they will repair or replace it.
So if your black-and-white running-Belgian top is destroying itself through no fault of your own, you might want to post it back to: Shutt Velo Rapide Limited, 35 The Grove, Ilkley, Yorkshire LS29 9NJ.

Chasing Back On...
I think I now understand my role in this Road/Classic/Cyclocross microcosm. It's the one of the rider we've all seen on TV, off the back, chasing back on. Not through lack of form or deep suffering either. It's the rider who's befallen one of the banana skins that dog our world. Maybe caught behind a crash and fallen in a ditch, a flat tyre just before the Koppenberg or maybe standing behind the level crossing as the breakaway disappears into the distance and the train roars along the tracks.
Bearing this in mind I'd like to introduce another new team member (something I should have done a few weeks ago - chasing on geddit?). So welcome onboard to Jemma Nurse, cross and mountainbike rider, South Wales resident and wife of team member Simon.
Jemma's currently sporting the red summer kit and I can't decide whether it was a case of Simon ordering the wrong size kit or a cunning plan by Mr Nurse to double the female presence on the team. Whichever, it's great to have you riding in our kit.
There...Bridged back on.

New Kit!

OK, who's been out in theirs so far?? I was too giddy not to this lunchtime.
Duncan has excelled himself, as ever. It's not as easy as it looks getting kit designed in concept, through the ordering process and out the other end into production without it looking like..... well, some of the less successful club kits out there. Or even some of the pro team kits......
Bold and stylish for all pieces, my particular favourite is the gilet which I think is going to become a staple part of my wardrobe on all but the hottest rides.

A somewhat more professional picture set may be threatening soon to replace these amateurish contributions........
