Formed in June 09, Here Come the Belgians is a non-elite anti-team celebrating all things cross, cobbled and Belgian.
Seeking a different experience to the traditional cycling club, its aim is to harness the energy of a vibrant internet cycling community with grass roots racing and riding based around Cyclocross and Spring Classics. There is no race programme in the style of a racing team, more a collection of individual experiences through rides and racing, in whatever location a member may be, that all can share in and contribute toward.

Der Ronde

In case anybody is up for it, the entries for the 2011 Tour of Flanders are open as of tonight! Link is here I'm down for the 260km version, like a fool. Fraser K who took some photos on our behalf (and happens to be a good friend of mine!) is coming along too!

So, who's in?

  1. will we get a special entry because of the name an'all that?

  2. maybe 1 day....
my big trip this year is to do the Raid Pyrenean with a group I'm putting together with Pete from Shutt VR in Sept if anyone would like to join us for that?

  3. I've just signed up for the 140k ride. The training will start tonight!

  4. The southern softies are planning a trip 3 weeks earlier. Saving money and all that! Planning a two day assult on the route.

More info later for anyone interested.

  5. This is a great day out. I did the full course two years ago and despite aggravating a knee problem which then put me out for 12 weeks, had a great time.

Acutally, I'm not sure what was better, the beer or the ride...... Thinking about it, that's quite easy. I only lost 12 hours to the beer.

  6. I'm thinking of the 140 km too. Maybe this time on a modern bike.
