Lister Lion Cross

A new event this year promoted and organised by Emma and team (including fellow Belgian Ali). The venue was absolutely stunning, a beautiful setting with excellent facilities and plenty of stuff going on for all the family - cafe, pizza van, coffee van, mini North Shore, roller racing, fat bike demos, bouncy castle etc.



The course itself was a toughie perhaps manifesting a little of Emma's love of fell running with a repeating up and down climb (incase you forgot to do your hill reps that week I guess) as well as some interesting technical passages, proper running sections and the fantastic back drop of Shibdon Hall and grounds.



We had Belgians represented in the novices, vets, and senior race. With so many different categories the fields were refreshingly small a stark contrast to the usual melee of a Yorkshire Points race.
The novices race had to be cut short and rescheduled with the Ladies after an unfortunate 'off' in the woods. It looked and no doubt felt painful but the worst of the injuries turned out to be chipped teeth :-/
